EnerTransEdu partners meet in Malta to advance training for the energy transition
Hive Ventures hosted the second transnational meeting of EnerTransEdu at the Valletta Design Cluster on 10–11 September 2026, bringing partners together to review the draft curriculum and prepare the next stage of training development. Over two days, discussions centred on how to turn the project’s work on energy transition and carbon neutrality into clear, practical learning materials.
For Hive Ventures, as project coordinator and host, the meeting was an opportunity to connect the partners’ contributions and prepare for wider engagement in Malta. It followed the April kick-off meeting in Çanakkale and marked a step towards preparing the materials for testing with learners.
The first day focused on the training programme. Partners presented their draft modules and reviewed how the content would fit together, looking closely at learning outcomes, terminology, workload and the sequence of topics. The aim was to give learners a coherent programme, with each module contributing to the wider understanding of energy transition and carbon neutrality.
A common production format will help bring that programme together: each module will consist of a ten-slide presentation accompanied by a ten-minute video. Partners also discussed practical exercises and case studies to support a blended learning approach. Hive Ventures will investigate a suitable free online platform for sharing the recordings and making them accessible to learners.
Testing will be an essential part of the next stage. Partners discussed the target groups, possible delivery settings and arrangements for piloting the materials. Their review also considered assessment methods and ways to gather learner feedback, so that the content can be refined in response to both its educational quality and ease of use.
The second day turned to project visibility and stakeholder engagement. Planned website improvements will make the project’s information and outputs easier to find, including more prominent access to the sustainability report. The website will also highlight links to Sustainable Development Goals 7, 9, 11 and 13, covering energy, industry and innovation, sustainable communities, and climate action.
A carbon footprint calculator is also planned, tailored particularly to the project’s stakeholders. The tool is intended to add a practical element to EnerTransEdu’s engagement activities, alongside the curriculum and sustainability report.
In Malta, an awareness event is planned for the first week of November 2026, with the exact date still to be confirmed. It will introduce EnerTransEdu, demonstrate the website and present the sustainability report, providing an opportunity to bring the project’s work to a wider audience.
Partners also considered how the learning materials could remain available and useful after the project ends. Discussions covered open licensing, publication through the Erasmus+ Project Results Platform and opportunities to integrate the resources into partners’ regular training offers.
During their time in Malta, participants visited the Turkish Embassy and met Ambassador Kayaoğlu to discuss research and innovation cooperation between Malta and Türkiye. The visit added a bilateral perspective to the partners’ work on energy transition and education.
The immediate focus is now on completing the module presentations and recordings, preparing the pilot activities and developing the project’s digital tools. For Hive Ventures, the meeting helped establish the next steps towards a training offer that partners can test, improve and continue using beyond the project period.
